Advanced Carbine & Pistol December 7 Cowtown range
December 7 9am-3pm cowtown range peoria, Arizona bay 5
Taught by Jacob Johnson
Course description
This intensive course trains experienced shooters in advanced carbine and pistol tactics, with a strong emphasis on practical, time-sensitive skills. Students will refine rapid presentations, movement, reloads and immediate action, effective use of cover, and smooth transitions between pistol and carbine. The curriculum also introduces fundamental Close Quarters Battle (CQB) principles — threat prioritization at short ranges, muzzle discipline in confined spaces, and transitions under stress — so participants can apply carbine and pistol techniques inside complex, close environments.
Learning objectives
1. Demonstrate safe, efficient transitions between pistol and carbine under time pressure.
2. Engage targets accurately while moving and using cover with both platforms.
3. Perform efficient reloads and immediate action (basic malfunction management) in timed scenarios.
4. Coordinate pistol/carbine transitions and target prioritization in dynamic drills.
5. Evaluate performance using time + accuracy metrics and apply corrective actions.
Equipment checklist (per student)
• Duty pistol + holster (strong-side), 2–3 magazines (min), magazine pouches
• Carbine/rifle with sling, 2–4 magazines
• Minimum 350 rounds (or adjusted alternative)
• Eye & ear protection, cap, gloves, soft gear for kneeling/barricades
• Water, sunscreen, appropriate clothing
