Couples Pistol Fundamentals is designed to help partners build safe, confident, and practical handgun skills together. Whether you are new to firearms or looking to strengthen your existing foundation, this course provides clear instruction, hands-on coaching, and plenty of repetitions in a positive training environment.

The course will cover:

  • Firearms safety and responsible handling

  • Loading, unloading, and safe weapon manipulation

  • Proper stance, grip, sight management, and trigger control

  • Recoil management and follow-through

  • Drawing safely and efficiently from the holster

  • Emergency and proactive reloads

  • Target transitions and multiple-shot accountability

  • Identifying and correcting common shooting errors

  • Practical drills designed to build confidence and consistency

This is a fundamentals-based course. Every drill will focus on developing repeatable skills and maintaining a clear performance standard. You do not need to be at the same experience level as your partner. Instruction will be adjusted to meet each shooter where they are.

ROUND COUNT

  • 350 rounds of pistol ammunition per shooter

  • Bring an additional 50 rounds if you would like extra repetitions

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • Reliable, serviceable semiautomatic pistol

  • Minimum of three magazines

  • Quality belt-mounted holster that completely covers the trigger guard

  • Magazine carrier or pouch

  • Sturdy belt

  • Eye and ear protection

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Comfortable range-appropriate clothing

  • Water and electrolyte drinks

  • Sunscreen, hat, and weather-appropriate gear

  • Small notebook and pen

  • Cleaning and lubrication supplies recommended

No shoulder holsters, cross-draw holsters, ankle holsters, or unsafe collapsible holsters will be permitted.
