2-DAY PERFORMANCE VEHICLE TACTICS
2-DAY PERFORMANCE VEHICLE TACTICS
PISTOL & CARBINE
Dates: October 17–18, 2026
Location: Prevail Training Center — Flagstaff, Arizona
Time: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM each day
Duration: 12 Hours Total
Round Count: 800 Pistol / 800 Rifle per Student
COURSE OVERVIEW
This two-day Performance Vehicle Tactics course is an advanced pistol and carbine program built around the practical application of firearms fundamentals in and around vehicles.
The course will focus on combining speed, accuracy, movement, positional shooting, weapon manipulation, and decision-making while working from realistic vehicle-based positions.
Vehicles create unique problems. They restrict movement, change shooting positions, affect visibility, complicate weapon presentation, and introduce ballistic considerations that are not encountered on a traditional square range.
The goal of this course is not simply learning how to shoot around a vehicle. It is learning how to perform around one.
DAY 1 — PERFORMANCE FOUNDATIONS & VEHICLE WORK
Day one establishes the performance standard before progressing into vehicle-specific applications.
Topics will include:
Performance pistol and carbine fundamentals
Accuracy and accountability at speed
Efficient weapon presentation
Target transitions
Shooting on the move
Rapid positional changes
Pistol-to-carbine and carbine-to-pistol transitions
Working from standing, kneeling, crouched, and unconventional positions
Understanding cover vs. concealment
Vehicle anatomy and ballistic considerations
Working around the front, rear, and sides of a vehicle
Maximizing available cover while maintaining mobility
Shooting through and around vehicle structures
Movement between positions around vehicles
DAY 2 — VEHICLE TACTICS & PERFORMANCE APPLICATION
Day two builds on the fundamentals established during day one and increases complexity, movement, and performance requirements.
Topics will include:
Working from inside the vehicle
Efficient vehicle exits with pistol and carbine
Weapon presentation from confined positions
Driver- and passenger-side problems
Movement away from and around vehicles
Engaging from multiple positions
Moving between vehicles and available cover
Weapon transitions around vehicles
Reloads and manipulations from compromised positions
Multiple-target engagements
Shooting while moving into and out of positions
Combining speed, movement, and target accountability
Progressive performance drills
Timed and scored exercises
Final vehicle-based performance evolutions incorporating skills from both days
ROUND COUNT
Per Student:
Pistol: 800 rounds
Carbine: 800 rounds
Total: 1,600 rounds
Students should arrive with all ammunition necessary for both days.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Reliable semi-automatic pistol
Reliable AR-style carbine or comparable platform
Quality holster
Rifle sling

Hearing protection
Appropriate range clothing and footwear
Water and hydration supplies

TRAINING STANDARD
This is a performance-focused course. Students should already possess a safe working knowledge of both pistol and carbine platforms, including loading, unloading, basic malfunction clearance, reloads, and safe weapon handling.
The course is designed to push beyond static shooting and place established fundamentals into more demanding environments where students must manage movement, position, speed, accuracy, equipment, and decision-making simultaneously.
Fundamentals establish the skill. Performance establishes the standard.
