Course description

A fundamentals focused course that teaches core carbine handling, marksmanship fundamentals, immediate action for common malfunctions, basic movement and magazine management — suitable as an introduction or refresher.

Learning objectives

By course end students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate safe carbine handling and range discipline.

2. Apply fundamental marksmanship principles (sight alignment/sight picture, trigger control, breath control) from common positions.

3. Perform basic reloads and an immediate action drill for common malfunctions.

4. Conduct simple movement-and-shoot drills and engage multiple targets under time pressure.

5. Perform a short practical evaluation demonstrating safety and basic accuracy.

Equipment & ammunition (per student)

• Carbine in safe working order

• Sling

Minimum magazines: 3 (recommended 4+).

Ammunition: 350-400 rounds

• Mandatory eye and ear protection, hat, sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing.
